OUR STORY
We Purchased the Building in 2019
We purchased The Mossyrock Motel in 2019 with no prior knowledge of its history. It hadn't operated as a motel for an uncertain period of time, and most of the rooms had been converted into storage units. Decades of neglect had left the property run down, with tall grass, weeds, abandoned vehicles, and trash. Unfortunately, its potential had been ignored by many.
A Great Location That Yearned for a Transformation
The motel building was situated between Mossyrock City Hall, the town's hardware store, and Smith & Son Grocery across the street. The downtown area boasts a variety of businesses, restaurants, coffee shops, food trucks, and a bar famous for its 'Dam Burger.' Additionally, being near two large lakes, parks, and trails, the community yearned for a transformation of this eyesore property, which was not contributing to the downtown atmosphere.

Meeting the Needs of Our Community
One of the primary concerns raised about vacation rentals, such as Airbnb, is their impact on housing availability for locals. Converting homes into vacation rentals attracts tourists but often leaves local service workers without affordable housing options. It becomes a zero-sum game, where one part of our community loses for another part to gain. Considering our area's existing housing shortage, our goal was to find a solution that would address these issues. We also recognized the need to accommodate traveling professionals, including nurses and similar occupations, who come to work and serve our community at Arbor Health's Morton Hospital.

With these considerations in mind, we set out to create a property that would meet the needs of our community by providing housing, vacation rentals, and storage solutions. We can now offer apartments for locals, guest rooms for traveling professionals, as well as short-term accommodations for vacationers and passers-through.
A Worthwhile Undertaking
Among all the projects we have undertaken, this one fills us with the most excitement and pride. The significant improvements we have made to the downtown area and the value we have added to the community are tremendous.
Thank you for taking the time to read our story. If you are a guest, we hope you enjoy your stay!
